Hearing From You

Since hosting our campus town hall discussions in May, we've had the privilege to hear your thoughts on the emerging vision for our campus. Those conversations were extremely valuable.

The overall response was encouraging. Those who engaged came with genuine enthusiasm and a clear readiness to move forward — the sentiment across every conversation was essentially "when do we start?" Not a single voice was raised in opposition to proceeding. The feedback we did receive alongside that enthusiasm was thoughtful and cautionary rather than resistant: the most consistent concern centred on parking. It was clear that adequate parking should be considered as a non-negotiable, while also taking into consideration what congestion might look like on our property between the church and buildings A, B, and C. These are exactly the kinds of practical considerations we want to hear, and we're carrying them into our planning.

In the weeks ahead, we'll be taking the feedback we received through our town hall discussions seriously, using it to carefully consider what the best possible path forward looks like for our property, and whether any adjustments to our current vision might better serve our church and our neighbours. We want to make sure that when decisions are made, they reflect not only what is financially viable, but what is truly aligned with our vision for our church and surrounding community.

As part of that process, we'll also be working toward completing several important studies on our property — including environmental and geotechnical assessments. These are necessary steps before any development can move forward, and we have budget approved to see them through. At the same time, we recently became aware of a grant program through the Edmonton Community Foundation that could help cover these costs along with other consulting fees. We're actively pursuing that opportunity and will share more as it develops.

As always, we're moving forward carefully and prayerfully — grateful for your engagement, and committed to keeping you informed along the way.

Prayer Items

  • Congregational Unity: Pray that the feedback gathered through our town halls would shape our planning wisely, and that we would move forward in a way that honours the affirmations and cautions we received.

  • City Grant: Pray for open doors as we explore the Edmonton Community Foundation grant opportunity and meet with various consultants this summer.

  • Summer Assessments: Pray that the environmental and geotechnical work ahead would proceed smoothly and give us the clarity we need to plan the next phase with confidence.
